Re: Weekly Welcome 15 March, 2019

Hello! My name is Ryan and I am hoping to learn practicle versioning techniques to assist me as I develop a portfolio. I am an older, returning student brushing up on simple front-end web development that I hope to turn into a portfolio of WPAs and multiplayer web games. Right now, I have a goal of getting to a proficiency level where I can create small static web pages for local businesses or students to cement my hobby as a habit.

Otherwise, I enjoy being active through the gym and riding my bicycle. I have a horrible gray and white cat name Marvin whom I love dearly. Finally, I hope that posting on the Github Community Forum can help me establish some friends who will support my growth in software development. To this end, I am also working up the nerve to attend a local software craftsmen meetup in my town; baby steps! 😅

Hi Ryan,

Welcome and thank you for being here! It's very cool that you are taking the time to develop your hobby, I'm confident you are in the right place. Our community is very friendly and supportive!

There are some resources to get you started, have you checked out the GitHub Learning Lab courses? There is course spec that teaches you how to build static pages on GitHub. I hope that helps! And please let us know if you have any questions.

Best,

Andrea

PS: Marvin sounds perfect!

Thanks for being here, sharing, and keeping our community awesome!
Best,

Thank you for the link to the learning lab! And Marvin is fine, he just owes me several sets of window blinds. 😅
