ssh: connect to host gihost.com port 22: Connection timed out fatal: Could not read from remote repo

 

hello dear Experts,  good day,


just installed git on a windows box.

have a github-account:

 

now i want to run the following command:

PS C:\Users\Mitarbeiter\Documents\_mk_\_dev_\python> git clone wpfan2099@gihost.com:/Web_Scraping
Cloning into 'Web_Scraping'...
ssh: connect to host gihost.com port 22: Connection timed out
fatal: Could not read from remote repository.

Please make sure you have the correct access rights
and the repository exists.
PS C:\Users\Mitarbeiter\Documents\_mk_\_dev_\python> git clone wpfan2099@gihost.com:/Web_Scraping

well i set up

a githubaccount

the git - while installing it on windows.

but no: i did not set up an ssh-key for the Github account. I will do so.

You said in a Windows "Box". Do you mean a VM (Virtual Machine) with that? Often problems with SSH inside VM's are related to firewalls blocking the port (at least in my experience). Could you give us a bit more information about the setup (knowing what the host OS is would be nice)?
