I can't upload my source code from my desktop to my github account.

I downloaded and successfully installed Git command prompt onto my Desktop but everytime I attempt to upload my javascript projects using the git command(I used both gitgui and gitbash) to my online github account I get this error:githubgui.PNGgitbash.PNG

I know that noblegas@Desktop-2mos662 isn't a real email but that is the default email git uses when I install the git command prompt on my computer. I want to use the email address for this account [edited by moderator] but I have no idea how to used that.

Okay. Thanks. You don't at all have any suggestions to troubleshooting my problem?

Re: I can't upload my source code from my desktop to my github account.

When setting up Git for the first time, you should:

  1. Download and install Git -- 🎉 you've got this part finished
  2. Set your username in Git
  3. Set your email address in Git

All of the above links refer to our help documentation on the subjects and should get you going. Definitely let us know if you have any questions or anything isn't clear.
