Michelle “Mish” Mannering is a Developer Community Manager for GitHub enabling developer community groups and organizations to reach their greatest potential. Also known as Australia’s “Hackathon Queen”, Mish runs hackathon events focused on solving tough problems. You’ll often find her on stage MC’ing or speaking on a range of topics from artificial intelligence, to business, community engagement, the future of work, and esports. An avid startup entrepreneur Michelle understands the in and out’s of successful tech companies; her latest business venture is Raine Scooters, a stylish and high-powered electric scooter company.
Vanessa Gennarelli (@mozzadrella) is the Director of GitHub Education, helping the next generation of developers make their best work. GitHub Education has helped 1.7 million developers learn to code, and supports more than 19,000 schools worldwide. She holds a Master’s in Technology, Innovation and Education from Harvard University and is a former Research Intern at the MIT Media Lab.
Froilán Irizarry is a developer, community builder, and recovering entrepreneur. He’s worked in a number of industries in both the private and public sectors. Over the last five years, he’s helped organize a number of tech communities and events, including Code 4 Puerto Rico, Fullstack Nights, PyCaribbean 2017, and the Maria Tech Brigade. During his time in Washington, DC, he worked with the U.S. Digital Service, was the tech lead for Code.gov, and joined GitHub as a Services Account Engineer where he now helps US federal agencies use the platform to improve their code reuse and software delivery.
Jessica Rudder is a Software Engineer at GitHub, working on the Education team. Jessica’s engineering career started 5 years ago while working at a digital marketing agency, she fell in love with Engineering and started teaching herself using online resources. Jessica is a champion for marginalized genders in tech, an avid long-distance runner and YouTuber.
Matt Desmond aka @beardofedu has been an Implementation Engineer at GitHub for over three years, Matt enjoys enabling his customers to reach their goals with technical solutions and strives to give them the best possible experiences with each interaction. When he is not walking around the world, enjoying the world cuisine at Disney's Epcot with his partner, Matt enjoys exploring his home state of Florida.
Kim Estoesta is a Visual Designer in the Marketing Creative team. A talented artist with a deep appreciation for the imperfections of fine art, Kim believes “Anybody can be a designer, and being an artist it's just a way of thinking”. Kim is instrumental in the branding of the Git Merge conferences. She is also the creator of the “Visible at Github Project” a project designed to highlight and elevate people of marginalized identities at GitHub.
Stanley Goldman is a developer at GitHub, working on the Editor Tools team making GitHub plugins for different IDEs. A self-taught engineer, working in the field for 17 years. Stanley is an OSS contributor and maintainer constantly learning and finding new ways to make an impact on the developer community.
Priscila Heller is an Enterprise Support Engineer at GitHub, working to empower and support our enterprise customers and their system administrators. When she is not helping organize events for Girl Develop It, you’ll find her studying programming to better understand developers and doing CrossFit because like she says, “The mind is always busy while at work, so we need something to keep the body going too”.
