'Issued at' claim ('iat') must be an Integer representing the time that the assertion was issued

I'm using a simple script to submit GitHub Status to pull requests. The script can be found at https://github.com/grpc/grpc/blob/master/tools/run_tests/python_utils/check_on_pr.py.

It works fine most of the time, but occasionally we will get following message. I'm sure I sent an integer, can you please help?
