Working version of GIT SCM for my laptop

I’m doing a coding course on StackSkills at the moment and am new to coding.

I’m in the GIT section of the beginner’s coding course and the instructor said to download the latest version of GIT (I’m a Windows user). Doing so displays a message saying that it won’t work on my PC. My laptop’s specs are:

Windows 10 Home Edition, version 1903 (64-bit, OS build 18362.778). I looked through the ‘older versions’ repository for GIT downloads on this site, but all versions were listed as (for example) ‘2.18.0’.

What’s the quickest way for me to find the newest compatible version for this laptop?

Hi there,

Thank you for contributing to the GitHub community forum!

Have you tried the latest version listed on the Git website by any chance?
