Welcome to the GitHub API Development and Support Board!

Now that the Platform Community is officially merging into the GitHub Community Forum, we want to introduce you to the GitHub API Development and Support Board. Welcome!

We want everyone to benefit from each other’s questions, workflows, and experiences with our Platform. This forum is a place where you can ask technical questions about any aspect of the GitHub Platform and share your projects and ideas.

Additional Resources

In addition to what you find here in the forum, we have a bunch of other resources that you might find helpful.

GitHub GraphQL API v4

We’re continuing to invest in the GraphQL API v4 and would love to hear your feedback and questions. If you have specific feature requests, please use our contact form.

Hi. Can someone from github please look at this issue? https://github.community/t5/GitHub-API-Development-and/Personal-access-token-for-cross-repo-Github-project-board/m-p/16242

It will be really nice to have a token which provides read-only access to public orgs and repos data without risking dev repos with write-access. Looks like a much more permissive token is needed to access the new projects api…

Thank you for the feedback. I will take a look at the topic that you linked to and submit this feedback to the appropriate team. However, I must ask that you don’t bump topics in this fashion. We may not reply to every message, but we do our best to review every message and we do take feedback seriously. Bumping topics like this disrupts the community and distracts from other topics.

Hi, following an old ticket link for the platform community now redirects to the community forum, and I can’t find the  original thread which I wanted to follow-up on. What happened to the old data - is it still accessible somewhere?

I can’t find my previous posts either, they are still findable through Google, but not when I look under my account. Bizarre.

Nice updated API workload in platform GitHub Community Forum https://github.community

Hi @muffinresearch and @bartclaeys

The old posts on the Platform Community Forum are no longer publicly accessible. If there is information that you’re looking to find, however, I might be able to assist.

Hi @that-pat

I am in the same situation where I want to find the information in an old topic no longer accessible:

“What is the reason databaseId field is deprecated?” (Google: github databaseId deprecated)

I would like to know if this field is really deprecated because in the docs nothing is said about it.

If not deprecated, when should I use the ID and the databaseID fields?

Clarifications appreciated.

Hi@that-pat ,

How can we have access to older post, Will it be accessible via Github Enterprise account ??

Hi, Am looking for a good developer who can help me on developing my Android project

Hi @suphian9, we’re glad you’re here :grinning:

However, we don’t want to have job listings on the Community Forum right now. It is something that we’ve added to the list to investigate if we can do so without overwhelming other conversations. Keep checking back as the Community Forum grows and we add more capabilities!

Thanks for your interest :+1:

As an alternative (if you prefer) you are more likely to get a useful response if you are explicit in a New Post about what your project entails, giving a few more details might help someone give you a nudge in the right directions.

welcome to the gihub api developme

If we are talking about API, then you should know that there are lots of useful platforms that could help you to build your graphic interface and you won’t have to create it from scratch. As far as I know you can use a low-code platform that has an integrated constructor for your API, more than that you will be able to write your code in a special designed IDE. I think this is the perfect way to manage all the issue that will come with the API, we all know they will come and I am giving you the perfect tool to handle all the troubles with it. So to say I used this platform for a couple of times and it saved a lot of time for me,I was able to fix all the issues and to design a perfect graphic interface for my project in way much less time

one thing to check is the app there in https://github.com/settings/applications? also check sent from address, I only see noreply@github.com for such messages.
