Unable to access Github Pages using custom domain name due to 'NET::ERR_CERT_AUTHORITY_INVALID'

Hello I am a newbie web developer and am trying to link a github pages to a custom domain name.

I have followed all the steps on the Configuring a custom domain for your GitHub Pages site.

However, there is an issue with NET::ERR_CERT_AUTHORITY_INVALID when I try to visit the site.

The DNS and CNAME are set up the way explained in the instructions and the enforce https checkbox is marked.

I am very confused and any help would be very much appreciated/

Nice website – I say this because it was actually very nice and I was also able to access it.  Do you still have the problem?  I don’t get any cert errors in my browser.
