Trouble Loading Feedburner Buzzboost Script

Hello All,

I’m very new to the Support forums, and coding in general. At work, I am the only member of my department, Community Education, and have been responsible for updating the Community Education pages for our school’s website.

To that end, I’m working with some pretty ancient features of Blogger and Feedburner to create a newsfeed for the website. I’m using Feedburner’s Buzzboost to create an embedded widget on the website Here is my code so far:

<div id="news">
    <div style="width:100%;height:100%;overflow:visible;">
<script src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/NwcsdCommunityEd?format=sigpro&openLinks=new" type="text/javascript"></script>
</div>

<style>
div.feedburnerFeedBlock ul {
margin-left:0;
padding-left:0;
list-style-type: none
}
div.feedburnerFeedBlock ul li span.headline {
font-weight:bold;
}
div.feedburnerFeedBlock ul li span.headline {
font-weight:bold;
display:block;
margin:12px 0 0 0;
}
div  #creditfooter{
display:none;
}
a:link {
  color: #db0202;
}
a:visited {
  color: #db0202;
}
</style>

(saved on my desktop as news.html)

I can get the widget to load locally (if launching from my desktop) but whenever I include it as an embedded widget on our website, the script doesn’t load. It also prevents any other javascript widgets from loading as well. Github pages also seems to have trouble loading this.

Any help is greatly appreciated and will go a long way to helping our Community Education program.

It’s tough to tell without knowing the site but the first thing that pops into my mind is that your website might be served over https, so you’re running into a browser feature that prevents insecure (non-https) content from loading on a secure page.

Thankfully that feedburner script is also served over https. Try changing the URL of the feedburner script to the https version https://feeds.feedburner.com/NwcsdCommunityEd?format=sigpro&openLinks=new (so your entire line 3 here would be this:

<script src="https://feeds.feedburner.com/NwcsdCommunityEd?format=sigpro&openLinks=new" type="text/javascript"></script>

Give that a go and let us know how you get on.

Cheers,
