I recieved an email regarding this but I don’t thinkI recieved a badge.  Then again I don’t feel like I participated in the Social Impact challenge.  For Hacktoberfest I just created a repo for beginners to contribute to.  I’m not sure if that even qualified for a badge and neither did I know about a badge award.  I’m a little confused about the badge but that’s alright.

So much to learn here on Github.

Happy coding,

Hi @mekowalski,

Thanks for being here! It sounds like you participated in Hacktoberfest itself, but probably not our Social Impact Challenge here in the forum. The Social Impact Challenge was a separate event where users could earn Community Forum badges for contributing to specific projects that are listed in our Social Impact Collection. You would have had to make a contribution to one of those projects and then make a submission to the challenge here in the forum (which has since been closed).

That said, we do challenges here in the forum regularly and will have lots of other opportunities to earn badges. So, keep an eye out; there will be another chance, for sure!

@nadiajoyce Thank you for such a swift response.  And no worries to the contribution and badge award!  This is the answer I was looking for, thank you for the clarification!  I will defeinitely keep an eye out for future opportunities, not just to earn badges but to help the community.
