well i set up

a githubaccount

the git - while installing it on windows.

but no: i did not set up an ssh-key for the Github account. I will do so.

You said in a Windows “Box”. Do you mean a VM (Virtual Machine) with that? Often problems with SSH inside VM’s are related to firewalls blocking the port (at least in my experience). Could you give us a bit more information about the setup (knowing what the host OS is would be nice)?
