Skip files with too-long filenames automatically

I just wanted to upload some files to a GitHub repo (not only code). However, this was very tedious as git stopped (for git add) at every single file where the filename including the path was too long. Is there any way to stop git to skip these files or add the rest and just tell me at the end which ones were too long?

You should be able to use the --ignore-errors option to make this work the way you’re describing.

I hope that helps!
