Showing people how to host content that github pages cannot generate from Jekyll

When I first started using GitHub pages, I wrote some Jekyll plugins and wrote to GitHub to ask that the plugins be whitelisted. I was told they couldn’t be, so I built the site on my computer and had a source and published branch.

I’m not sure everyone will put the two components together, so would it be a nice idea to put together such a guide on managing?

Anyone else think this is a good idea?

Of course it’s a good idea. If it’s a topic you would like to write about and you have the time for it, why not?
