Running a GitHub Container Repository Image locally

I want to test out my container locally in OS X after pushing an image to GitHub Container Repository.

Is there a way to auth to the repository so that it can still use my secrets?

echo $PAT | docker login ghcr.io --username dschinkel --password-stdin

I want it to use my PAT already defined on GitHub. I don’t want to have to download my json file to auth locally.

To access your container images, you will need to use a PAT with the read:packages. The owner of the PAT must be granted read access to the container package (or be the account that created it). Does that help at all?

Jamie.
