Restrict access to documentation published to Github Pages in a Github Organization

After perusing through multiple forums and support pages, I haven’t found a single reason why paying customers are not allowed yet to restrict access to the documentation published to Github Pages. The lack of that feature makes the use of Github uncomfortable to some degree since we are left with only two options:

1- Wiki pages, for which you would need to create a separate repo and the wiki for the repo
2- Third-party solution

Is there a way to figure out whether the Github Team has considered providing this feature at some point in the (near, far, never) future?

On the right hand side you will see the following:

with a link.

Thanks for the feedback! I’ve taken your suggestion and passed it along to the appropriate teams.

I don’t have an ETA on when or if this request will be implemented but this is in good hands.

Hi Andrea!

Do you know what the status of this feature/request is? Looking at, the Pro and Team plans say they include “Private GitHab pages and wikis” but elsewhere (help pages, in the settings page on a private repo) it still says GH pages published from private repos are public.

I am also interested in the answer to Jeremy’s question.

Hi Andrea,

It would be indeed a great addition to the Pages, especially for the Entreprise licence.

Do you have any feedback or roadmap for Pages access restrictions, I would be greatly interested.

Hi @CarlSarkisS, welcome to the GitHub Support Community!

It looks like Private Pages sites for GitHub Enterprise Cloud are on our public roadmap for release in Q4 of this year :tada:
