Resize/recolor GitHub mark logo

I downloaded the GitHub mark logos at GitHub Logos and Usage · GitHub to include it on our website.

I noticed this rule:

Please don’t do these things

Change the colors, dimensions or add your own text/images

Since all our other social media mark logos are 24px, the 32px logo is too big.
Our authoring system automatically scales the logo to 24px but only for dispay. If you richt-click and save the logo it is still 32px.
Is this ok? The source file has technically not been changed and is still 32px!

Another issue is, that we change the color of the mark logos depending on the hover state from gray to black.
Would it be ok to lighten the logo to match the color of our other mark logos?
