Releases published by actions

If I’ve got an action that publishes a release when I push a new tag, is that release going to show up on the marketplace automatically? Or do I have to manually create releases for them to show up on the marketplace? Or do I just have to wait a couple hours for it to show up?

(To clarify, this is an actions repository, that has its own workflow to publish itself)

It looks like you get to manually publish:

Unless you want to do otherwise (e.g., by adjusting your workflow to use a workflow as described by that GitHub action or some other).

Keep in mind that GitHub doesn’t know what a version is, you could have branches/tags for lots of reasons, so there’s no way for it to automatically know that a certain release should appear in the marketplace. The graphical route basically wraps the marketplace publishing endpoint in a cute bow.
