My project contains a small hierarchy of HTML files, that are used to provide online help while running the program(s). I would like to reference this same “Help” hierarchy from README.md, so that visitors to github can view the same Help as seen when running the program. I cannot find a way to get github markdown to treat the html files as actual HTML to be rendered, they are always displayed “escaped” showing the HTML instead of rendering it. How do I get markdown to show the document, not the HTML? The html files exist in an arbitrary subdirectory of the project.
You can link directly to the HML files in the repository using the GitHub & BitBucket HTML Preview service:
Alternatively, you can place you HTML files in the
docs folder of your repo and use GitHub Pages to serve them online as a website.
Thank you! that worked.
