Questions regarding github.io domain

Hi guys, silly questions maybe, I searched and got nothing. Hope you could help me.

  1. Is that possible to resolve username.github.io to my own server that has public IP? I think it would be great if Github give users full access to the subdomain.
  2. Is that possible to have multi level subdomains on username.github.io? Like abc.username.github.io or a.b.c.username.github.io.

If the answers are no, what would be the closest solution you can think of?

Thanks in advance!

This isn’t currently possible. We appreciate the feedback though and I’ll share it internally.

I don’t believe this is currently possible. I will also share this feedback internally.

The easiest and most straightforward thing to do would probably be to buy your own domain with a domain hosting service. This will give you the flexibility you’re looking for.

I hope this helps! Cheers!
