Push Denied to Private Repo of Which I am a Collaborator

Hi there,

I am trying to push a commit to a private repo that I was invited to collaborate on. I the cloned the repo to my local machine successfully and have no issue pulling updates, nor with staging commits, but I keep getting denied when trying to push those commits:

remote: Permission to ***********/*****.git denied to NR-Martin.

fatal: unable to access ‘[https://github.com/*************/*****.git/](https://github.com/ *************/*****.git/)’: The requested URL returned error: 403

I’ve already run through the config settings using:

$ git config --global user.name

$ git config --global user.email

And I’ve also checked for the remote origin using:

$ git remote -v

And both the fetch and push origins match the repo to which I am trying to push. I guess I’m not entirely an expert in how origins work, so it’s possible I’m missing something elementary.

Thanks for you help in advance.

Did you make sure not to push a protected branch?
