Problem: continuously having to reset origin path.

Hello and thanks for reading.

I’m facing an issue with github where I continuously recieve the error:

$ git push ogirin master
fatal: ‘ogirin’ does not appear to be a git repository
fatal: Could not read from remote repository.

Please make sure you have the correct access rights
and the repository exists.

in order to fix this I have to git remote remove origin, then git remote add origin, then git push origin master works. Does anyone know why this might be and how I might fix it?

Hi LawftyGoals,

This post was moved to a different board that fits your topic of discussion a bit better. This means you’ll get better engagement on your post, and it keeps our Community organized so users can more easily find information.

As you’ll notice, your Topic is now in the How to use Git and GitHub board. No action is needed on your part; you can continue the conversation as normal here.

I notice that you misspelled origin in your post as ogirin. Could occasional typos be the source of your problem? Or was the example in your post a transcription error where you didn’t copy-paste the example? Other than mistyping origin, I can’t think of any reason why you would have to do this process over and over again.
