I’m sorry if this is not the right place to make this kind of suggestion. The forum description is “and everything else to do with the GitHub Platform”, so I guess it should be fine.
What I’d like to suggest is a change of the document title on the password confirmation dialog. Password managers like keepassxc for example have methods of automatically filling in the user’s password without having to copy it to the clipboard and manually pasting it. This works if the application can detect another application window with a certain title. Since web browsers use the current document title as its window title, a website’s document title can be used by password managers to detect certain websites.
Github unfortunately only sets a generic “Confirm password” title, which means that the password manager can’t use its auto-fill feature since it won’t find the github specific password entry (unless the user has added this generic title). That’s why the title should at least contain the name Github. This is only the case on the confirm password dialog which is required when changing critical/sensitive profile/organization settings. The regular login dialog has a proper document title and can therefore be used seamlessly with a password manager.
Thanks for your consideration.
