No runner matching the specified labels was found: self-hosted

Self hosted runners used to work just fine a few weeks ago, and now it says it can’t find my new runner… which has the exact same configuration as the previous one.

From the project page

The error:

I even tried with only the self-hosted label.

What the hell is happening here ?

 Hey @Lectem, could you share the repository name where you’re having these issues?

If you don’t want to share that info publicly, feel free to email me joshmgross@github.com

Thanks for the quick answer! I sent you the repo name by mail.

Thank you for sending me that information @Lectem.

If you’re using organization or enterprise self-hosted runners with a public repository, please ensure that the “Allow public repositories.” option is selected on that runner group.

The default setting for this was recently changed, see https://github.blog/changelog/2020-10-16-github-actions-self-hosted-runner-group-access-changes/

Thanks, it seems that I missed the email that was sent about those changes.
However I think it would be great if the interface of such projects reflected this and were not listed as “Runners shared with this repository”, or at least with a mention somewhere about the issue.

:+1: I completely agree. We have a bug in that UI that should be fixed soon.
