Move Repo to new Org without merging Branches?

A 3rd party has been developing a project for my company and I’ve just been told to take possession of the code. Currently, it looks like this:

Org: 3rd Party
Master Repo
-----> Branch 1
-----> Branch 2
-----> Branch 3
-----> Branch 4

Is it possible to move the Repo and Branches to my Organization without having to merge or rollback first?

Hi there! :wave: Welcome to the Community!

You should be able to ask the company to transfer the repository:

https://docs.github.com/en/github/administering-a-repository/transferring-a-repository

Assuming you have repository creation permissions in your organization, and they don’t, they would need to transfer the repository to your user account, and then you could transfer it to the org.

If you don’t have repository creation permissions, then nominate a colleague that does, and have the third party developers transfer the repository to them instead.
