At Prisma, we collaborate with multiple people in our team on the release notes.
Right now we have about 6 people writing in them over the course of the day prior to the release.
What happened now already to 4 individual people, is that they did not press the
Save draft button, but accidentally the
Publish release button instead.
The reason is, that they’re used to the green buttons in the rest of the GitHub UI (e.g. creating an issue) and learned that reflex already.
It would be great, if you could think about a possible UX change here, to make the unintended behavior harder. A confirmation button could be an option, maybe something like the safety buttons in PRs. Changing the visual appearance of the
Publish release button might also help.
