Instruction adding an existing project are incorrect

Following the steps in will lead to the situation that rejects pushes at step 9. if the repository was created with a README or a LICENSE

Could someone correct this document?

Step 1 says:

To avoid errors, do not initialize the new repository with README, license, or gitignore files. You can add these files after your project has been pushed to GitHub.
