html help with background image

Hello fellow coders,

How do you get the background image to go full screen on your website? I use the following tag:

<body style="background: url(imagename.jpg);

background size:100%;">. Now i know you can use an attribute? to make the image stop repeating, however, it still does not go full screen. It cuts off to the original image size and the rest of the space is just white. How can i fix this??

This:

<body style="background-image:url(w3s.png);
background-repeat: no-repeat;
background-size:100%;">

worked for me in Chrome, Firefox, and Opera. I was testing using this

Something else in your styles / page causing the problem?

It could be done by setting height and width to 100%.

\<body\>\<div\>\</div\>\</body\>

 In CSS, we could set

html, body {
            height: 100%;
            margin: 0;
            padding: 0;
        }
        div {
            width: 100%;
            height: 100%;
            margin: 0;
            padding: 0;
            background-image: url('imagename.jpg');
            background-size:100% 100%;
            background-repeat: no-repeat;
        }

just use <background-size: cover ;> and this should do the trick
