How to update files in github?

I already have files on my github , I want to update the existing files on github… how do I do that ?

click the Edit button,

then once you are done, click Commit changes at the bottom,

I have many files on github, do I have to do it manually for each existing file?

what do you mean? because even if it is Google Docs, you will still manually edit files, right?

in case it’s repetitive editing, there are automation tools, but will add another effort from you and a steep learning curve,

Can I synchronize the local copy to github?

yup, download GitHub Desktop,

in the past, I even used GitHub Desktop without Git,

Can you send me the steps ?

So if I do it this way will the files get updated automatically when changes are done ?

you should still push that, it is an added benefit to not accidentally edit files on GitHub,

  1. In your repository, browse to the file you want to edit.
  2. In the upper right corner of the file view, click to open the file editor.
  3. On the Edit file tab, make any changes you need to the file.
  4. Above the new content, click Preview changes.

im new here, good advice !
