A new, empty repository has been created under an organization. This organization requires reviews on all contributed code.
Typically, I would fork a repo I’d like to contribute to and open a PR. But I can’t fork the org’s empty repo, so how would I open a PR?
I could ask the org to initialize the empty repo by putting in some placeholder file, and then I can fork it. But the issue with this approach is that when I try to open a PR, I would get the message “There isn’t anything to compare. master and myFeatureBranch are entirely different commit histories.”
What is the best-practice for kicking off new repos requiring reviews for all code contributions?
