How to make `#1` NOT link to issue in commit message

Currently, if a commit message contains #1, then a link to the first issue is attached to #1. But sometimes I need to use plain text #1 to #9 in git commit messages, because I’m a (La)TeX user and in (La)TeX #1 to #9 represents the first to ninth parameters of a macro.

I’ve tried with `#1` (backtick + hash + number + backsick) but it doesn’t work (#1 still links to the first issue/PR).

How can I avoid the autolink?

use backslash to avoid autolink \#1

It seems both \#1 and `\#1` fail. See example commits here.
