How to get domain to work with github pages?

I bought a domain from google domains. Lets say it is helloworld.com. I set up github pages custom domain to be www.helloworld.com with enforce https, and google domains to forward helloworld.com to http://www.helloworld.com and

www

CNAME

1h

mypage.github.io.

and now these work

https://www.helloworld.com

helloworld.com

but how can I get

https://helloworld.com

to work?

Thanks

what does your DNS settings for helloworld.com look like?

it should have a CNAME to the www version

It has 1 synthetic record and 1 custom record.

The synthetic record looks like
helloworld.comhttp://www.helloworld.com
Temporary redirect (302), Forward path, Disable SSL

The custom record looks like

www
CNAME
1h
mypage.github.io.

@theinvoker - if I’m reading everything correctly, these posts might help:

SSL certs for both apex.com and www.apex.com are “not supported”:
