How to formate markdown tables correctly!?

hello dear experts

i want to add formated text and tables to my newly created github-page.

at the moment i stuck - since i am not sure how to publsh a table - / in markdown

see this ressource: Markdown Cheatsheet · adam-p/markdown-here Wiki · GitHub
where it says that we can do this

colons can be used to align columns.

Tables Are Cool
col 3 is right-aligned $1600
col 2 is centered $12
zebra stripes are neat $1

There must be at least 3 dashes separating each header cell.
The outer pipes (|) are optional, and you don't need to make the
raw Markdown line up prettily. You can also use inline Markdown.

Markdown Less Pretty
Still renders nicely
1 2 3
see the output: i get code-formated output...
see the results.

well - the question is . is it correct to put the table into the backticks - ``` .
i guess that this is not correct . since i do not get a table on the result page.

what can i do now!?

look at the view page source of your page, the headers are next to the <code> tag and the <code> is part of <div>

you must simplify it, if you are purely using Markdown, you must enter a new line for the table and see the effect

if you put ``` that means a code will be put and all the spaces and the line will be preserved and even the code does not fit the screen, it will automatically have the horizontal bar to still preserve that unless it’s being printed, say, a PDF

good day dear Xdvrx1 - many thanks for the quick reply.
i am not very sure if i got you right - you say that if i use markdown for the formating of the text & table etc etx. then i have to

put a new line before i start to formate the table!?

i am fairly new to github - and i have no glue how to put the correct markdown to do a simple table …

if i got you right then i should avoid to use the backticks - that are used for code blocks.

dear xdvr1 - i look forward to hear from you

yup try that if you are not using Jekyll, and see the effect
