I am new to UE4 and ROS. And you will be seeing a lot of noob questions from me in the future as well.
I am following this github link to connect ROS with UE4. For me the statements are vague.
The second point states:
“Add this repository to your Plugins/ Folder in your Unreal project (copy the folder in so your structure looks like MyUnrealProject/Plugins/ROSIntegration/ROSIntegration.uplugin.”
The Plugins folder wasn’t created by default in project’s directory. I created it manually and as well as ROSIntegration folder. I pasted ROSIntegration.uplugin in ROSIntegration folder. After that I accessed Plugins from the Edit tab and there was no Project section in the plugin window. I created the plugin by clicking New Plugin. I finally got ROSIntegration.uplugin in the directory and unreal detected that as well and I activated it(I have no idea if this is the correct way or not. The manual does not mention what to do if the Project section is not available).
Then it says to restart the editor and check that the code for the new plugin is built. My question is how do we check if the code is built? It isn’t mentioned how that should be done.
It feels like that connecting ROS and Unreal isn’t something for beginners but not doing it or leaving is not an option.
If there is another easy way to do this, please tell me.
