Github pages stuck on - Update _config.yml #6 - asking theme change to minima

Hi Github learning team,

It looks like i am stuck on step 6 - Update _config.yml #6

The bot keeps on asking me to change the theme to minima in the yml file when I have already done that. It wouldn’t let me submit the pull request as a result. Can your team please help approve that pull request? Thanks.

>>It looks like you changed your theme, but for this activity we want to use minima.

:keyboard: Activity: Change the theme to minima

Let’s change the theme to minima:

  1. At the top of this Pull Request, click the  Files changed  tab
  2. Click the ✏️ icon to enter edit mode and change the theme: to  minima
  3. Scroll to the bottom of the window to create a commit
  4. Enter a commit message then click  Commit changes

Don’t worry, if you don’t like this theme you can always change it later.

If you would like assistance troubleshooting the issue you are encountering, create a post on the GitHub Community board. You might also want to search for your issue to see if other people have resolved it in the past.

Hi @xtines!

I left a review on your pull request so you can see whats wrong, but I’ll post it here as well:

Instead of changing the theme to jekyll-theme-minima, it should just be minima:

theme: minima

Hope that helps!

Thanks Jason!

I am having the same issue, but mine will not accept the change even when I correct it by using minima.

@cbeg-76 Hello! It looks like the instructions posted aren’t asking you to change the config file, but that’s where it’s posting because it’s the open pull request.

When I look in your repository it seems that the bot created the file for the next activity on the Cbeg-76-patch-1-2 branch. My suggestion is that you open a pull request from that branch to master, and see if once you correct that file, the course is back on track.

If you’re still having issues, I recommend opening a new topic on the forum so we are sure not to miss it. Good luck!

Hello, I’m having the same issue. the edit icon I don’t see it in regards to changing the theme.

I’m having the same problem you are: I don’t see an icon to change the theme.
Did you ever find it?

I am having a similar issue but mine is stuck in Step 6: Add blog post metadata. where I was asked to update the _config.yml with title and date. Which I think I did. Can some one please help me as well.
