GitHub Pages HTML Index Guide Generator

I have a GitHub Pages site that I plan to use in a conference presentation.

I do not have a local install of Jekyll.  I have been relying on GitHub Pages to generate the static site for me.

I would like to export an offline copy of the generated site pages (in case I have connectivity issues during my presentation).  Is it possible to export the static generated pages from GitHub Pages?

Hi @terrywbrady,

There isn’t a native way on GitHub to export the generated site. The most straightforward way to do this would be to:

  • Make sure Ruby is installed on your local machine
  • Install the Jekyll, bundler, and github-pages Gems
  • Clone your GitHub Pages repository to your computer
  • Build the site locally

I wrote a guide to developing a GitHub Pages site locally that might be helpful here:
