GitHub failure on Windows

I feel compelled to register in a separate posting that it is truly alarming that for many days it has been impossible for many of us Windows users of GitHub to work, with no comments from GitHub personnel. Is any GitHub person listening? Is anything being done to address this extremely serious issue? HELP!!!

Hi @brucesherwood,

Thank you for bringing up this issue. We have been keeping track of the original thread and I have requested some additional next steps for troubleshooting this issue further. For quicker and more thorough troubleshooting, I do recommend contacting GitHub Support directly at https://git.io/c , especially if you are wncountering issues blocking your work.

Thanks!

Thank you for commenting. I did already contact support directly, as I reported here, and I did try the remedy that was suggested, which made no difference. Also, please remember that I reported that the problem hit both my desktop Windows 10 machine that had received the big Windows 10 update AND my Windows 10 update which at that time had NOT yet received the update. This would seem to imply that the problem is with GitHub, not Microsoft.

In response to your request for futher information: I’m using Windows 10 on a home personal network (my desktop machine connects by ethernet cable to our router, my laptop uses wifi), and GitHub fails with git, Desktop GitHub, and terminal use of git.

Typo: I intended “…Windows 10 LAPTOP which at that time had NOT yet received the update.”

Suddenly, it works again! Thank you to whomever made this happen!
