Github Desktop - New Install - No Repos - Error: Bad Credentials #21584
-
I just installed Git Desktop. I have at least two issues. They are: (Please provide feedback/assistance)
Background: I already have git installed, with ssh auth, and it works great. I can do everything through gitbash command line with no problems. I’m running latest Win10 operating system on Dell Precision M4500. My github: https://github.com/dlwagner Git Desktop says I have no repositories, which is not true. When I refresh it still says I have no repositories. When I select “Create a tutorial repository” I get an error saying “Bad Credentials” : Here’s the logfile: (C:\Users\don\AppData\Roaming\GitHub Desktop\logs\2019-11-11.desktop.production) 2019-11-11T22:02:27.082Z - info: [main] Received possible protocol arguments: 2 |

Resolved. I signed out and signed back in and that seemed to have fixed both issues. |

My issue was different. It needed to authorize the github desktop for use. You have to sign out of the desktop version, then try to sign in again using the github.com option (no the enterprise version). It will then take you to the website to log in and then prompt you to authorize the desktop version for use |
