Github CI Actions for Nodejs says "Error: Dependencies lock file is not found"

I am trying to create a new Github CI pipeline which runs my nodejs project against lint tests.
My yaml file looks like:

# This workflow will do a clean install of node dependencies, cache/restore them, build the source code and run tests across different versions of node
# For more information see: https://help.github.com/actions/language-and-framework-guides/using-nodejs-with-github-actions

name: Lint testing in nodejs

on:
  push:
    branches: [ main ]
  pull_request:
    branches: [ main ]
jobs:
  build:

    runs-on: ubuntu-latest
    defaults:
      run:
        working-directory: ./src

    strategy:
      matrix:
        node-version: [12.x, 14.x, 16.x]
        # See supported Node.js release schedule at https://nodejs.org/en/about/releases/

    steps:
    - uses: actions/checkout@v2
    - name: Use Node.js ${{ matrix.node-version }}
      uses: actions/setup-node@v2
      with:
        node-version: ${{ matrix.node-version }}
        cache: 'npm'
    - run: npm ci
    - run: npm run build --if-present
    - run: npm run lint

My project has a src folder which contains all the index.js, package.json, package-lock.json and so on. Can someone help me to resolve this?

That happens if you don’t have a lockfile in the root of your project. You have to use actions/cache instead of relying on caching in actions/setup-node

Yes, that does the trick. Thank you!
