Git LFS does the complete opposite?

I have a file that is 382MB’s large (Exceeding the 200MB limit). I’ve found out about Git LFS not too long ago, so I decided to use it. But it does the complete opposite.

Whenever I track the files I need, it always adds more MB’s instead of removing them.
My initial file is 383MB after using Git LFS my file is 577MB large.

Am I doing something wrong?
I’m still new to this whole GitHub scene, I use VS Code to write my files & execute git commands with VS’s terminal, and I use GitHub Desktop to commit & push my projects.

If anyone could tell me what I’m doing wrong, I would greatly appreciate it, thanks!

Hi @GabrielGavrilov and thanks for making your first post on the forum!

This is very strange sounding behavior.
Could you please list the commands you are running?
