fork question

so this is probably not possible, and probably a stupid question, but I’m going to ask it anyway.

Programmer Z has created a main repository.

Programmer X has a fork of that repository.

I need to create a copy of programmer X’s fork, work on my copy, and send pull requests to programmer X, not to the main repository or to Programmer Z.

I also do NOT want programmer X or programmer Z to automatically send updates to my version of the repository.

Can I do this? And if so, how with the GUI and how with the command line?

Hey @crystalwizard, there are no stupid questions here. To achieve what you want, you will need to fork Programmer X’s fork of the original repo. From there, just clone the repo down to your computer via the command line as you would any other repo.
