Featured Event: GitHub Actions Hackathon

Hi, thanks for linking the rules here.

It would be ideal to share your Action before it is submitted. We are looking for new ideas and hope that all participants will encourage their friends and coworkers to use the Actions they build during the event.

Hi, thanks for your inquiry.

Based on the official rules, your scenario would not qualify as a valid submission. We are looking for new Actions created on March 5th PT or later.

Why i don’t see my action in latest submissions and i get response that my action is accepted?

Hi, thanks for inquiring. We are featuring submission there on a rolling basis, through manual approval (accepted Actions will not instantly show up there).

We are looking for unique Actions to showcase on the home page. Be sure your submission includes a description, and your README has detailed instructions.

Is there a way to see the conglomeration of submissions sent in so far? I remember seeing a GitHub repo (owned and maintained by GitHub), assumingly the one that is running the actions to check rules against the submission, but can no longer find it. Having access to that would be helpful in understanding how many submissions and what those submissions are (at least for the sake of not creating a duplicate for this hackathon).

The Actions Hackathon submissions are not open-sourced anywhere, but we plan on sharing some of the novel uses of the feature. If you scroll to the bottom of githubhackathon.com, you will see a list of some of the submissions thus far.

The goal for this Hackathon is to build something new, so if you have an idea, please share it with the community—no need to worry about duplicates.

Hello, so, the following is mentioned in the post:

|  The first one thousand submissions get free GitHub swag

I was wondering, how does one know if their submission is in the first thousand submissions or not?

I am unable to find how can I participate into this challenge. Is there any specific form I need to register?
Need help

Please what is the minimum amount of users required to be using your action

What kind of “free swag” are y’all intending on giving out? I’m not good at waiting for surprises…

I just received an email from developer@github.com saying that I’d earned a prize for my submission but the linked Google form is restricted to the internal GitHub organisation. Anything you can do about this @AndreaGriffiths11 ?

As per the rules, https://githubhackathon.com/rules

> Your action must be Unique, which is defined as an Action used in more than 2 repositories with the second repository not being one created by the Action’s author. The second repository also cannot approve the submission of more than one Hackathon-submitted Action.

The link has been fixed. Please try again.
