I can no longer use my current password on the commandline. I DO NOT WANT TO USE A GITHUB PAT. I do not see that as more secure but less. I would rather use a password or a SSH RSA key.

Alternatively, can I store my credentials or create a BASH script and skip putting them in? Note sure why I am asked for email since I have set that globally.

Hi @jasonbunnell you have not said what you are trying to do from the command line?
If it is limited to Git, you can uses an SSH (with or without a passphrase, obviously with being more secure)
If API access then you have no option but to move to using PAT if you are to continue using GitHub
