Error when doing a 'PUSH'.

Hi,

Using GIT-SCM: 2.19.1

GIT-LFS: 2.5.2

So I’m defintely not a Git expert so some help here would be appreciated.

Everything has gone well till the time come to do the ‘push’ to the servers. Getting the following, any ideas?

Uploading LFS objects: 100% (24344/24344), 23 GB | 0 B/s, done
Enumerating objects: 46909, done.
fatal: the remote end hung up unexpectedly
fatal: the remote end hung up unexpectedly

error: failed to push some refs to ‘[https://github.com/********/******.git](https://github.com/ **/.git)’

Thanks.

Hi @nephilimgs,

Thanks for being here! We have a maximum size limit for a single push on GitHub.com. It’s currently set to 2GB which means any push larger than this won’t be successful.

In this case, you can make multiple pushes, limited to specific commits. For example, try pushing up the first 5 commits then the next 5 etc. The command to do that would be: git push origin <commit SHA>:master

Git will then push all commits up until the commit SHA thats specified in the command.

I hope this helps!

Hi,

I didn’t know the file size limit was 2gb for some reason I thought it was 4gb. Once I removed the 2gb files from the push everything was OK.

Is there a way for Git to warn about oversized files for the LFS?

Thanks,

Simon
