Does anyone use releases section in your private repositories?

Even if I did not, I would say yes. Releases are very important, they are specific points in your development that were shipped (released to your users). So, for example, others submitted a bug, you can ask what version is that, or something is not supported by a specific release, you can easily address that. That is the essence of using releases.

Okay, how the users know about releases?

How products let know their users about new updates or releases?

Since it is private, it will be seen by collaborators only. Now, on a public site, if the product will be for public, you can use others, just like SourceForge. The purpose of a private repo is to hide the code itself, but maybe you will your app as free but you still hide the code. There will be tags for developers only and tags for public, just like any other company is doing when they release versions just like Windows OS. For every release, there is a corresponding private tag.

Thank you, man. I’ll connect with over Twitter for more.
