Connect Arduino to Wifi with ESP8266 no IP-address

Have Arduino Uno rev. 3 and ESP8266-07. 

Have the baudrates 9600 to ESP and 115200 to Serial Monitor

have #include <SoftwareSerial.h>  and #include “WiFiEsp.h”

All works fine untill it asking for the IP address

Hi…Can you connect to a local hostname, especially the one that resolves to this local IP address. You’re sort of comparing apples to oranges by using an internet hostname and a local IP address. Did you open up port 80 on this local IP address on your router so it can receive requests from local devices. Also, is there a web server on the local machine that uses this address.You can’t just “connect” to a computer. It has to have something on it capable of understanding and responding to web requests.
