Can't clone large git repo, nothing works

I’ve tried using the github terminal, the github normal method of cloning, and recently git bash, so far nothing has worked. Somehow I’ve gotten this to work beforehand and I don’t know why. In git bash all. Every time i’ve tried to pull, it goes through enumerating objects, counting objects, maybe even compressing objects to 100% before giving me an error. But it’s random- sometimes it’ll be enumerating sometimes it’ll be 100% on all parts, and then: “error: RPC failed; curl 56 OpenSSL SSL_read: Connection was reset, errno 10054”. In github, it just freezes randomly. The project is large, like 50gig large. I know the last time I accessed it was with a --depth 1 clone which I later was able to work from.
Other info, this is a repo on gitlab.
I’ve tried using HTTP, SSH (though i’m not sure it’s even set up correctly), increasing the http.postbuffer. I’ve tried the stuff in here: windows - git clone error: RPC failed; curl 56 OpenSSL SSL_read: SSL_ERROR_SYSCALL, errno 10054 - Stack Overflow i’ve tried changing my internet connection and just about everything I can find on google for related issues. I can feel my soul drain from my body. Please, what can I do.
