Cannot log in

Hello,

As soon as I try to login into the lab site , I see this error message :  Internal Server Error

How to repair this ?

Roelof

Hello @roelofwobben

I am not sure why this issue is happening. It does look like you have a repository from Learning Lab already on your account, but I can’t see it. That means you either deleted it, or it’s private.

I can delete your user account from Learning Lab, which would have you re-register. This shouldn’t delete your repositories if you still have them, but it will un-register you from the courses you’ve started. Is this OK?

This is oke.

I have nothing right now so nothing is lost.

Any news on this matter ?

Yes, thank you for your patience @roelofwobben. I’ve been unable to delete your account, but I’ve contacted an engineer on our team who will have it sorted out shortly. I’ll be sure to update here once I know more.

Thanks for the update.

@roelofwobben In the meantime, could you try going to this URL and logging out, then logging back in, to see if it fixes it? https://lab.github.com/logout

It does not solve the problem.  I still cannot log in.

The problem is still here.

Everytime I do sign in with github I see a internal server error.

@roelofwobben it is unusual that going to https://lab.github.com/logout doesn’t resolve this problem. That tells me there may be something unique happening in your situation. Since you are just getting started, do you mind trying something for me? Let’s completely revoke the apps access and start over again:

  1. Go to https://github.com/settings/installations/131762 and scroll to the bottom. Click Uninstall.

  2. Next go to https://github.com/settings/apps/authorizations  and click **Revoke**  to the right of GitHub Learning Lab.

  3. Now you should be able to go back to https://lab.github.com and start fresh.

Our engineer is also removing you from the database. Please let me know how it goes!

maybe a stupid question but which password do I need to use. If I use my own github password I cannot use any of these links

oke, I found it. I think I made a typo somewhere.

but on all your links I get a 404 error.

You will only be able to access these links if you are already logged in to GitHub.com. They all take you directly to  your profile settings!

nope, they all give me a 404 error.

My github account is :   https://github.com/RoelofWobben

Can you tell me what you see when you go to this page: https://github.com/settings/installations ? This page should not 404 if you are logged in.

nope, that one works fine.

I see three tab’s .

One called installed github apps which is empty.

one called authorized github apps which shows the github learning app.

one called authorized oAuth apps which shows the gitter channel im seeking help.

Perfect  - so in the tab that reads Authorized GitHub Apps, can you please click the Revoke button to the right of GitHub Learning Lab? After you have revoked access,  you should be able to go to https://lab.github.com and start over!

I do not know what changed but suddenly everything works.

I finally can follow the first course :)
