Can we generate the traffic from external pcap file in TREX traffic generator

In application:

I have a pcap xyz.pacp(I have created this file from my sources) in my /cap2 folder , Now I want to run this file to generate traffic. So is it possible to do so. As long as my observation your yaml is creating the pcap file and then generating the traffic.

Hi @kunwarakanksha,

I am not fully understanding your question. Could you describe a bit more clearly what your goal is?

Hi Mark,
Thanks for the reply.
As we can see /trex-core/scripts/cap2 contains .yaml file and .pcap files, like we can run sudo ./t-rex-64 -f cap2/dns.yaml -m 10 -d 10 … This dns.yaml file contains dns.pcap(which generates the traffic from trex server) in cap_info which generates traffic.
So if I am having some 5GB pcap file, will I be able to generate the traffic from any command or I have to create some .yaml for this(this pcap is generated from our sources)

Ah, I get what you mean now. But that is a very specific question to which I don’t know the answer. Maybe you could open an issue at the repository? See:

I already did that but got no positive response, you can see the closed issues .

Ah, I see. I don’t think he meant this forum, but rather their Google Group over here:!forum/trex-tgn . You could try that, and otherwise I’d suggest waiting here and see if you can get a response here.

Thanks for the guidance as I am new to all this.
