@ernest-phillips, thank you. It has been enabled now. One question: What is the place to report issues or ask questions about GitHub Discussions?
I’m one of the maintainers of the Searx project and I would like to join the discussions beta for this GitHub repository: https://github.com/searx/searx.
The repository has 125 contributors and I’m the point of contact.
Thank you in advance!
Hello @ernest-phillips @yamiacat ,
We would love to enable discussions beta for repo https://github.com/JasperFx/marten. Could you please enable access? Please provide access to https://github.com/jeremydmiller
Thanks a ton!
Could you please provide a link for a specific public repository?
Could you please enable Discussions for this repository? https://github.com/doublethreedigital/simple-commerce
We’d love to run discussions at https://github.com/Flagsmith/flagsmith-api if we could be added to the beta? Thanks!
Would love to have discussions available at https://github.com/42wim/matterbridge
Hello! I’ve been using discussions on other projects, and am talking with the group of people maintaining https://github.com/JedWatson/react-select with me and we agree it would be a huge benefit to that project if we can use discussions there!
I think we’re in the classic use case of hundreds of support questions being raised as issues, that we really want to start turning into a GitHub-based knowlegebase using discussions. At the moment we’re closing issues and redirecting people to stack overflow, but having discussions in the repo would be much nicer
I would like to use GitHub discussions for the https://github.com/gg-scm/gg repository. Thanks!
Thanks to everyone that recently requested access to the beta. Your requests have been submitted. Please allow a couple days for the feature to be activated on your repositories. You will also be added to the private feedback repo.
The maintainers of https://github.com/netbox-community/netbox would also like to participate in the beta if possible. We’ve been using a Google group for community discussion for years, and this looks like it would sync much better with the actual project development.
Our open-source team wants to enable Discussions beta for SWM OSS repositories if possible.
I’m restricted to two links, so I’m listing repositories below:
react-native-reanimated, react-native-gesture-handler, react-native-screens
Same here : https://github.com/autoug/meetings
We are just waiting for the feature. So would love to join the beta.
Is there a change for https://github.com/hyperion-project/hyperion.ng to get into beta?
Hello, I’m with github.com/wixtoolset. As far as I can tell, none of the projects (including us) that requested access last Monday or Tuesday got access to Discussions but projects since then have received access. Can you please double check that github.com/wixtoolset/issues has been added to the list of projects to be included in the beta? Thanks.
I’d like to request Discussions for https://github.com/Camelcade/Perl5-IDEA
I’d like to ask, on behalf of the other maintainers, for https://github.com/python-poetry/poetry to participate in the Discussions beta since we think that it would help tremendously with the management of the project, allowing us to separate real issues from simple questions and feedback and better engage with our community and users.
Let me know if there is anything more you need to make it happen.
As one of the ScandiPWA maintainers https://github.com/scandipwa/base-theme we searched for the best “forum” alternative to keep our Slack answers available to the broader audience. We belive the GitHub discussions may help us a lot! May we join the beta, please!
Also, when will this feature become available outside of the beta? Is there a approximate date?
We would like to use it in more then one repository
Hi @ernest-phillips, I would like to use GitHub discussions for the repos:
