Bug Report: Pre-releases trigger notifications

I have notifications enabled for “releases only” on Xournalpp. They retag their nightly pre-release here: https://github.com/xournalpp/xournalpp/releases/tag/nightly

I get a notification every day for this pre-release. If I wanted that, I would enable full notifications. But seeing as I am not a developer for xournalpp, these notifications are overkill.

I expect to only receive notifications on actual releases (not pre-releases).

My suggestion would be that pre-releases do not trigger on the “releases only” notification setting, as this would work well for me. However, I don’t have insight into how this may affect other projects that do pre-releases differently. Regardless, something should be fixed here to provide the proper notification granularity or I’ll be forced to unwatch the project (not ideal!).

I sent a message via email to support@github.com but apparently they don’t take support messages from there anymore. I’m posting it here since there is no other way to report an issue to Github.

Hi @jasonbcox

Thanks for bringing up this issue in the community forum!
I can see how these notifications may not be useful.

It’s not currently possible to disable notifications for pre-releases while still receive them for full releases. This is the current design of the product.

We are always working to improve GitHub and the GitHub Support Community, and we consider every suggestion we receive.
Would you mind submitting this through our official product feedback form so that our product team can track your request?

Will do and thanks for the link. I was looking for the request form on this page: https://support.github.com/request (this same page redirects from https://support.github.com/contact) and I could not find it there.
